Our weekly Qigong and Meditation class takes place at the Uckfield Yoga Studio on a Wednesday morning 11-12.
It is a gentle, relaxing, and mindful hour where you will learn a variety of qigong sequences, as well as meditation techniques, that can be practiced almost anywhere and anytime.
Qigong
Qigong itself is like a moving meditation, the gentle and flowing movements will help to keep the mind and body healthy, improve balance and coordination, keep the joints moving through a natural range of motion, increase your energy levels and promote a healthy flow of Qi throughout and around your body, removing blockages and stagnation, reducing the likelihood of sickness and injury.
You will learn a wealth of Qigong exercises, as well as set forms and routines, such as Ba Duan Jin (8 Pieces of Silk Brocade), Shibashi 1, 2, and 3, Turning The Moon… and many more.
All of the routines can be done from a standing or seated position and have a very low impact – yet a powerful and positive effect – on the body.
Meditation
Along with the Qigong routines, we will be exploring meditation and mindfulness.
The widely reported benefits of regular meditation classes suggest that it can help with everything from stress, insomnia, improving concentration, focus, and clarity to helping with conditions such as chronic pain, weight control, creating a positive self image, and recovering from illness and injury.
The meditation practices will range from simple mindfulness techniques, to guided visualisations, as well as standing, seated, and laying down variations.
The class is suitable for everyone, regardless of age and experience. You can be barefoot or in socks in the yoga studio and bring a drink along for the break.
Please check our prices page for details of costs and discounts for new students.
