Hi everyone,

I hope that you are having a good summer holiday month, whether you are managing to get away or not. Remember, I am away for a few days next week, so there are no classes Monday – Friday.

Before my break, my thoughts are shifting towards September and there are some changes and updates that you all need to know about for Tai Chi classes/courses/workshops next month. Read on for more information…

White Crane Tai Chi.
As you all hopefully know by now, on Wednesdays and Saturdays we will be returning to our pre-lockdown home of St Richard’s Church Hall.

There is one small change, Wednesday evenings start 15 minutes later, so the class is 7.15 – 8.15pm.

Thursdays class at King Edward Hall in Lindfield will be remaining as it is at present (11-12).

All classes have spaces most weeks, so if you’d like to come along you can book in via the website.

Weekly Chen Tai Chi Class.
Our Monday morning class, which when weather permitting has been taking place in Victoria Park, will also be moving to St Richard’s Church Hall, from Monday 6th September, this class will also be changing times slightly and take place from 11.30 – 12.30.
In this class I teach the beginners Chen 18 move form, we will then go on to study the Yang 24.
New students are welcome to join anytime. Book online.

Chen Tai Chi Beginners’ Course.
If you would like to try out a 5 week introduction to Chen Tai Chi, bookings are now being taken for the beginners’ course taking place at St Richard’s Church Hall on Fridays 11-12, from September 17th – October 15th.
You will learn the graceful, flowing, and gently relaxing opening moves of the Chen form (which are pretty much the same for all of the forms), they make a lovely 5-move sequence.
Places are limited, and book before 31st August for an early bird discount.

Online Tai Chi.
Even with lockdowns and restrictions ending, online learning hasn’t been completely abandoned. We still have morning Skype follow-along classes Monday – Friday, where you can learn Qigong forms (Shibashi 1, 2, and 3, as well as Ba Duan Jin) on Mon, Weds, Fri, on a Tuesday morning we have a Kung Fu class, and on Thursday it’s stretching. Contact me if you’d like more information on how to join these classes, they are all 30 minutes long and are a great way to start the day!

There is still one Zoom class each week, on a Monday 5-6pm. If you’re not ready to leave your house for classes just yet, or you’d like to easily fit in an extra class each week, you can book your place online. In the Zoom classes we focus on White Crane Tai Chi.

There’s also White Crane Online, our subscription website, where you can learn White Crane Tai Chi, Shibashi 1 and 2, Ba Duan Jin, as well as follow along with stretching routines, tai chi lessons, and guided meditations. Learn anywhere, anytime, and all at your own pace with detailed instructional videos. More courses will be added after the summer now that we can meet and film again…. including tai chi fan!

September Workshop.
…and last but not least, there’s the September Weapons Workshop coming up on Saturday 18th, 2-4pm at King Edward Hall. Come along to practice your tai chi (as well as kung fu) weapons. Places are limited, so early booking recommended.

Well if you’ve read this far and you’re not already a tai chi student, you must be at least curious…. why not come along and give it a go? As you can see, there are lots of options!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

See you in class!
Mark.
