Six Healing Sounds Qigong Workshop – Sat, 17 October 2026 @ 13:00-15:00, St Richards, HH

The Six Healing Sounds (Liu Zi Jue) is one of China’s oldest and most widely practised Qigong systems, with roots stretching back hundreds of years.

Combining gentle movement, breathing techniques and specific healing sounds, the practice is traditionally used to help regulate emotions, calm the mind and support the healthy functioning of different organs and systems within the body.

Each sound is associated with a different organ system and emotional quality:

• Lungs – sadness, grief, letting go
• Kidneys – fear, stress, restoring calm
• Liver – frustration, tension, balance
• Heart – agitation, restlessness, joy
• Spleen – worry, overthinking, grounding
• Triple Burner – overall relaxation and harmony

Many people practise the Six Healing Sounds to help with:

• Stress reduction and relaxation
• Improving breathing awareness
• Releasing physical tension
• Supporting emotional balance
• Better sleep and recovery
• Developing calmness and mindfulness
• Increasing energy and overall wellbeing
• Creating a deeper connection between body and breath

The movements are gentle, accessible and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Whether you are completely new to Qigong or already have experience, this workshop will provide a practical introduction to a fascinating traditional system designed to calm, restore and rebalance.

In this 2-hour workshop we will learn the Six Healing Sounds sequence step-by-step, explore the breathing methods and discuss the traditional theory behind the practice.
