Hi everyone,
It’s the summer holidays already and whilst classes are quiet this month, there’s plenty going on behind the scenes to get you excited for September onwards – including a new weekly kung fu class for children.
Read on for news of what is coming up, as well as a couple of important changes coming up in August…
Holiday Dates
There will be no classes on the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th of August… unless Wales closes its border in the next couple of weeks and another holiday is postponed!
Return to St Richard’s
It’s been a very long time away and I’m very pleased to be returning to St Richard’s for our Wednesday evening and Saturday morning classes.
King Edward Hall has been great but with several organisations returning to use the hall on an ad hoc basis, it’s not possible to use it weekly.
We return to St Richard’s Church Hall on Saturday 14th August. The timetable is slightly different on Wednesday evenings (to give the previous group time to vacate the hall and car park):
7.15-8.15 White Crane Tai Chi
8.15-9.15 Kung Fu
9.15-9.45 Weapons
New Events for September
Children’s Kung Fu Class
On Thursday 2nd September 5-6pm we will start a new term-time only Children’s Kung Fu Class. More details are available on our website.
September Workshop
We haven’t completely left King Edward Hall at the weekends as many of our workshops will still take place there. Join us on Saturday 18th September for a 2 hour weapons workshop.
Chen Tai Chi Course for Beginners
Five Friday mornings from 17th September (11-12), everyone is welcome to join and learn the basics of Chen tai chi.
We will cover the first 5 moves of the Chen 18 Form. These 5 gentle, flowing, and relaxing moves are the foundation of all Chen tai chi.
The course is suitable for everyone, regardless of whether you are a complete beginner or train in our White Crane classes.
A Request
I have noticed recently an increased number of late cancellations or no shows, after people have signed up for classes. I give people a little leeway but as numbers are limited in classes, you could be taking someone else’s place. Please note, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all classes.
