Tai Chi for the Elderly

I’m really pleased to be able to say that White Crane Academy really does cater for all ages, whatever your needs are at any particular age.

Whether you are young and have an abundance of energy and want to run around kickboxing or honing your self defence skills with kung fu, or are at the other end of the spectrum and struggle to move around much and live quite a sedentary life, we have something to offer.

One of the highlights of my week is my regular visit to Summerlands Residential Home in Haywards Heath where I teach a seated Tai Chi class to the residents. We’ve been doing the classes for several weeks now and I’m really pleased to see them making progress.

Tai Chi has a great many benefits whatever your age but specifically for the elderly it is a great way to get the body moving gently and fluidly, to be able to stretch out a bit and not put too much stress or strain on the body.
